I have had a hard time this year connecting with my Home Base. It has been awhile since I have felt frustrated with a HB.
It isn't the kids. They are great. Really. They have all the potential for being a close- knit community of caring Wildcats who treat each other with respect & have fun together.
I think that I have failed as their HB teacher by not RELAXING and nurturing them &/ or providing rich, spontaneous opportunities to develop the close- knit community of caring Wildcats that usually evolve in my room.
They are driving me nuts because of ME.
So sad, but true. New seating chart tomorrow......again.
