Buster & I have been naughty.

And, of course, like everything else, it was DAN'S fault.

After a day of VERY productive curriculum writing *** raises eyebrow*** I came home to an empty house... with the exception of my friend Buster waiting in his crate with his head hung low.

His ( and my ) master left us at around 2pm to pick The Graduate up from Duluth for the last time to bring her and her belongings home.

Why o why would you leave an open box of Ho Hos on the counter, Dan? And with only one package having been taken out? I believe that you did this out of guilt. Because one time , a month or so ago, you commented TO ME that "you don't need that junk" whilst I was on my second package of Ho hos. I took that comment in stride, though it hurt, and just left it alone. UNLIKE the opened box of ho hos, sitting on the kitchen counter, right out in the open for God & all to see & be tempted by. How dare you.

THREE packets of Ho hos. Not one, not two, but THREE were had by me... and Buster. Buster just licked the wrappers but puked on the bed anyhow.

Me? Well, I'm just a little constipated. And worried about how I am going to answer for my sins. To my Master. Who tempted me. And won. Sighhhhhh.

I think I sweat more than I used to.

Just an observation. That is all.

F

Wow. There is more to sweating than I thought. Wikipedia..are you shitting me?

Perspiration

Perspiration (sweating, transpiration, or diaphoresis) is the production of a fluid, consisting primarily of water as well as various dissolved solids (chiefly chlorides), that is excreted by the sweat glands in the skin of mammals.[1] Sweat contains the chemicals or odorants 2-methylphenol (o-cresol) and 4-methylphenol (p-cresol), as well as a small amount of urea.

YUCK. I may need to see a doctor.

Making room.

With the remodeling that will happen in the science prep rooms I have had to move some master files to one of my file cabinets in my room. I had to throw away folders from past units from 1995- about 2002. Want to know how long it took? Less than 5 seconds.

My college years are over...WOOT!!!

Jessica just finished her last final exam within the last hour. Dan & I & Jamie are going to her ceremony on Saturday.

So let's see. I started in 1974. And even though all of those years didn't include taking classes, I HAVE earned a Master's plus 60. There were a few years that I was in school at the same time that Jamie was and also at the same time that Danielle was.

But I am definitely experiencing a resounding feeling of a "finished"!!!!.
Without a doubt. I can actually feel an end. Yep. Done with college. All of it. Every... single... piece of it. And it feels damn good. :)

Flash! WOOT!!!

ps. Bet Jess is feelin' it too !! WOOT for Jessica!!!!!!

About to graduate!!!

Well, she's finally made it! Jessica will go through the graduation ceremony for the University of Minnesota- Duluth next Saturday at noon. She's home this weekend, is finished with all but one final. She will go take on Thursday and stay in Duluth then, through the rest of May.

Even being a college graduate myself, I can't imagine how she must feel. It has been a long and tough road for Jessica. She is like a whole different person in my own eyes. She has grown and changed and gained so much independence and confidence in those 5 years.

She really has only a slim chance of getting accepted into a PT school for this year but she is far from discouraged & her future is anything but questionable.

She has a line on teaching at Becker Recreation center, has other options as well, and definitely has her eye on the tiger.... PT school in 2011. This young lady has, does & will not give up. She will, one day, be Dr. Meyer. Or more likely, Dr. Schulte!!!

Picts. from the last year at UMD. It was a great one for her....everything she always wanted from her college experience and more:

Notes on Ryan.

How Jamie & Ryan met....their story: One of Jamie's friends attempted to set her up on a blind date with Ryan. She was busy with school/life/work & was not interested. Ryan called her several times & Jamie refused. Then, in September on a very warm day, he called her and asked if she would like to go jet skiing. Jamie accepted. Ryan always laughs & brags that she finally said yes & that he saw her in a swim suit on their first date!!!

When Dan & I met him: Christmas. When we went to the Meyer get together, Dan & I were just ahead of Jamie & Ryan in arriving. When we walked in the door, I was immediately bombarded with questions such as " What is he like? Is it serious? ". I remember kind of barging my way through the sea of Meyers like a snow plow mumbling something like " I don't know! We just met him ourselves 2 hours ago!".

See. That is THE basic & defining characteristic that separates our family. I don't meddle.

Ryan: Is smart. Is a ranger. Is the oldest son of a teacher & paraprofessional. Is opinionated. Is well liked. Is friendly. Can be bull headed. Is a great husband. Knows how to handle Jamie when she finally loses her temper. Has learned how not to push her that far or to push the buttons that will make her furious. Jamie in a furious state is 1) NOT pretty. 2) NOT logical.

Ryan as Dad: Is very involved. Babies Grace. Grace has Ryan wrapped around her little finger:) Is consistent in his expectations of his kids. Has a very good handle on who & what both Connor & Grace are becoming. Is supportive.

As a brother-in-law: Is supportive of both Jessica & Danielle. Is sincerely interested in their lives, goals & aspirations. Gives good advice without really knowing that he is helping to guide them. Is a leader / trail blazer for the other possible future sons-in-law.

As a son-in-law: Is decidedly independent. Appreciates that Jamie is our daughter but makes it pretty clear that they are a separate entity ( yeah. Like I have the time OR energy to manage someone else's life!). Is becoming more & more comfortable in his realization that we love & accept him, appreciate him & are very proud that our oldest daughter chose such a fine man to make her life partner..
