My girl in 'Nam is enjoying it.

We've heard from her via e mail twice. Haven't heard in two days so expect to soon. The correspondence is short and sweet " we are here and staying here e mail you again soon...." Another 5 days or so and they should be back in the US. Whew.

They'll need time to decompress. I HOPE they have built in a little time off before they return to work schedules but I'm not sure about that.

I won't be expecting the much anticipated face to face stories for awhile but likely some pictures will be on line sooner than that. I look forward to that but first things first. Get home safely Zach & Danielle.

Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

I had to stay awake to see the wedding. I was very intrigued by the whole thing. I want to believe that Gene the superstar, super smart, super business saavy, super successful etc etc etc man will be faithful in all ways to his wife Shannon but I'm not sure he will. It will be so sad if he goes back to be an ass especially for his kids whom I adore ...Nick & Sophie. Shannon & Gene both managed to raise two wonderfully intelligent, talented ( did you hear them SING at the wedding? FANTASTIC!) and secure adult children. It would sadden me to no end if Gene did all of this for the fan fair,the attention, the spotlight that he craves.... but I would NOT be surprised if he cheated on Shannon again.

My goal for tomorrow.... to NOT get pissed at students before 9:00 a.m. LAST Monday I was yelling ( very rare for me) by 9:00am. Here's a math problem for your students:

If Mary can delay her pissed off ed ness by 15 minutes every consecutive Monday of the school year starting tomorrow.... how many weeks will it be before she can say "I didn't YELL AT MY STUDENTS ONCE TODAY!!!!!"

Depending on the answer, I might actually set that as a goal.

My girl is going to N. Vietnam.

She leaves in two days & will be traveling for two weeks. I will be glad when she gets back and am excited, cautiously worried , and looking forward to hearing about their adventures all at the same time.

I think that some of the worry is an overreaction..I have known about this trip for a year or more, but the three typhoons in that area got me going not to mention that when I was a kid the North Vietnamese were our enemies in a terrible war. The good news is that Zach has traveled in that area before and they have left all important information ( passport copies, an itinerary etc) with both Zach's folks and us & they will let the American authorities in Vietnam know they are there.

I guess they have covered all of the bases and for that I am grateful. I hope it is the trips of all trips and I can't wait to see the pictures and as I said hear the stories.

It is supposed to be a beautiful country , friendly to Americans & a relatively cheap place to spend a two week vacation. Be safe Danielle. I love you. And don't drink the water....
