Dan just got home.

Dan picking up a crazy- assed toy poodle barking a greeting to his favorite person in the whole world. " Do you smell Bub Buster?". ( Bub is David's dog.). After Dan gives me a kiss...

" We found something kind of interesting up there. On the end of a culvert by the shack there was a big pile of shit.

it looked like grouse shit, but longer (shows me with his fingers)
ME thinking...a shovel full of odd looking shit that someone dropped at the end of a culvert on the road just for fun?... where is this going?

We figured that a porcupine must be living in that culvert. We saw other porcupine sign

Yeah. One side of the culvert had a big pile of shit , the other side just a little. End of discussion.

What a difference a year makes.

I sure hope next year is half as nice as this year. I can't believe that I can give an assignment & the kids will do it without me having to breathe down their necks like a troll holding a club.

I've been able o trust them like this ALL year & it wasn't until MAY last year when I realized I could relax!!!

I'm teaching summer school for the first time this summer. I wonder what that will be like.

Dan went to the deer shack with uncle David. He won't be back until Saturday. Buster is in his crate right now & I wonder how he is doing.

I haven't sent any paper work to Media for next year yet & that makes me nervous. I like to be ahead. I also have a little more ordering of science equipment to do yet. I have everything ordered for Science Club though & I feel good about that.

I have to go to North to meet with another teacher regarding leveled readers we ordered this winter. I think someone f'ed up the distribution of books. She hasn't even opened her boxes up yet. I hate cluster fucks and may have to let this one go or I will go stark raving mad.

Great story. His daughter has taken over & this am on CBS News Sunday she said that #1) She wishes she had taken over while he was still alive so that they had been able to work together & #2) That she often times feels he is on the fringes watching her.

I have felt my own Dad's presence lately, especially when I am on my way home from school & I am reflecting on my teaching day. I think that he would be proud of me; how how hard I have been working, how well I have been teaching.

I would never want to go back in time & be with him. He was a tortured man & I am way better off NOT having been with him. But there was a side of him that was "Dad" that I miss from time to time. I guess, like the daughter above, I wish I would at least have told him that while he was alive.

Kites on a roll.

So I ordered 20 kites on a roll for science club ( for next year) & made the sample kite. Actually, Dan & I made it.

Can't fly it yet, but I sure had fun decorating it!!!!
